Minister Discusses Local Sanitation Challenges and Future Plans

Today, Minister of Local Administration Hussein Al-Aghbari met with the directors of sanitation and improvement funds from the governorates of Hadhramaut, Lahij, Abyan, and Al-Dhale. The meeting focused on the current conditions and needs of these funds, as well as work plans and strategies for the year 2025.

Addressing Key Issues in Sanitation

During the meeting, participants discussed several critical issues and field challenges facing sanitation funds in the liberated governorates. They explored ways to enhance technical and logistical support to improve performance and achieve environmental sustainability.

Infrastructure and Community Awareness

The discussions also highlighted the importance of improving the infrastructure of sanitation systems. Additionally, the need to raise community awareness about the significance of maintaining public cleanliness was emphasized. Plans for developing future projects were also on the agenda.

Commitment to Revenue Growth and Waste Management

Minister Al-Aghbari stressed the necessity of collaborative efforts to increase the funds’ revenues and develop their resources. He urged adherence to the allocation of funds for specific projects and emphasized the importance of timely waste removal from cities. This proactive approach aims to prevent any health and environmental hazards.

Acknowledging Efforts in Sanitation Leadership

The minister praised the efforts of sanitation and improvement fund leaders, noting that their work reflects the civilized image of cities in terms of cleanliness and environmental health.

Challenges Faced by Sanitation Funds

Directors of the sanitation and improvement funds presented an overview of the difficulties and obstacles they encounter in their operations. They expressed appreciation for the ministry’s support and cooperation, which plays a crucial role in enhancing the capabilities of these funds. This support enables them to improve their sanitation tasks, manage green spaces, and ensure the stability of sanitation workers, along with acquiring necessary tools and equipment.

The meeting underscored the importance of a unified approach to tackle sanitation challenges and improve public health in the region. With continued collaboration and support, the sanitation funds can enhance their operations and contribute to a cleaner, healthier environment for all.
