The Minister of Information states that the Houthi militia aims to drag Yemen into futile wars, turning Sanaa into a “southern suburb” replica.

Yemen's Information Minister Warns of Houthi Threats

Yemen’s Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism, Muammar Al-Eryani, issued a strong warning regarding the imminent dangers posed by the Houthi militia. He emphasized that the Yemeni people must recognize the significant threat these Iranian-backed militants represent due to their irresponsible actions.

Houthi Escalation: A Part of a Larger Game

In a recent press statement, Al-Eryani remarked that the recent escalation by the Houthis constitutes merely a segment of a larger strategy. He asserted that the militia shows no genuine concern for the Palestinian cause, the fate of Yemenis, or the future of their homeland. Instead, their reckless adventures exacerbate the suffering of the Yemeni population. Al-Eryani believes that the Houthis’ attempts to maintain their political and military presence reflect a state of desperation and fear, particularly as Iran’s influence wanes in the region.

Iranian Strategy and Houthi Actions

Al-Eryani highlighted that the Houthis’ intensified operations come at a time when other Iranian proxies are losing ground. He characterized this escalation as a blatant Iranian maneuver aimed at preserving its regional role and status following recent setbacks. Moreover, he pointed out that the Houthis attempt to export their internal crises and quell rising public discontent in areas under their control.

Houthi Militias: A Dangerous Proxy for Iran

Al-Eryani reiterated that the Houthi militia serves as Iran’s most obedient and reckless regional proxy. He criticized their efforts to engage in battles that neither harm Israel nor alter the balance of power in the region. Furthermore, he condemned their indifference towards the Yemeni people’s plight and resources, warning that their reckless actions could lead to devastating consequences for Yemenis’ lives and property.

Iran’s Shift in Strategy

Following significant losses in Syria and Lebanon, Al-Eryani noted a shift in Iran’s rhetoric. The Iranian regime has begun advocating for coexistence among regional nations, utilizing diplomatic language to ease regional tensions. This change appears to be an attempt to alleviate the political, economic, and military pressures stemming from international sanctions and internal divisions.

The Urgency for Yemeni Unity

Al-Eryani urged the Yemeni people to remain vigilant and aware of the Houthi propaganda that aims to prolong their suffering and destroy what remains of their resources. He stressed that every day under Houthi control deepens the humanitarian crisis and pushes Yemen closer to collapse.

He called upon all Yemenis to unite against these malicious schemes, emphasizing that the Palestinian issue is merely a pretext for the Houthis’ failures and betrayals. Al-Eryani concluded that the current moment demands decisive action and awareness to thwart the Houthis’ plans and prevent them from exploiting the suffering of the Yemeni people for their narrow interests, which ultimately serve Iran at Yemen’s expense.

The situation in Yemen remains precarious, with the Houthi militia’s actions posing a significant threat to national security and the well-being of its citizens. As the Yemeni people face these challenges, unity and awareness become crucial in navigating the complexities of regional politics and safeguarding their future.
