The Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, Technical Education, and Vocational Training celebrated several Yemeni universities today in Aden, the temporary capital. This event coincided with the World Quality Day, observed annually on November 13.
During the ceremony, Dr. Khalid Al-Wasabi, the Minister of Higher Education, commended the Yemeni universities that excelled in the QS World University Rankings for 2025. He highlighted the impressive performance of these institutions on a local level. Notably, several universities entered the rankings for the first time, showcasing their ability to compete based on global standards.
Dr. Al-Wasabi announced that the ministry plans to launch a national classification tool for local universities at the beginning of 2025. This initiative aims to enhance the overall quality of higher education institutions in Yemen, ensuring they meet international benchmarks.
At the conclusion of the event, Minister Al-Wasabi awarded certificates to the top-ranked Yemeni universities in the QS classification. The University of Science and Technology in Aden secured the first place, followed by Hadhramout University in second place, and Sana’a University in third.
This recognition not only highlights the achievements of these institutions but also underscores the ongoing commitment to improving educational standards in Yemen.
