The Minister of Defense inaugurates the 2025 training year at the Military Academy in Aden.

On Wednesday, Minister of Defense Lieutenant General Mohsen Al-Dhahari inaugurated the 2025 training, combat, and morale year at the Military Academy in Aden, the temporary capital of Yemen. This event marks a significant step in enhancing the capabilities of Yemen’s armed forces.

Acknowledgment of Leadership Support

In his address, Minister Al-Dhahari conveyed greetings from the political leadership, including President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, and other council members. He emphasized the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff’s dedicated efforts over the past year to train and equip educational and training facilities. These initiatives aim to inject new blood into the armed forces, which is crucial for building and developing the military institution.

Saluting the Brave Fighters

Al-Dhahari paid tribute to the fighters stationed at the front lines, acknowledging their sacrifices and the pure blood they shed to defend national gains. He urged them to remain vigilant and ready to respond to any developments posed by the Houthi militia and its supporters.

Commitment to Unity and Readiness

The Minister reiterated the importance of unity among the ranks and maintaining high morale. He stressed the need to restore state institutions, end the Houthi coup, and fulfill the aspirations of the Yemeni people for freedom, dignity, and a state governed by law.

Minister Al-Dhahari expressed his gratitude to the coalition partners, particularly the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, for their substantial support to the Yemeni people and armed forces. He highlighted the sacrifices made by both nations, which have intertwined with Yemeni blood, strengthening the bonds of strategic brotherhood.

Commitment to Development at the Military Academy

In a related statement, Colonel Mohammed Al-Sufi, the Deputy Director of the Military Academy, reaffirmed the commitment to ongoing development and modernization within the institution. He emphasized the importance of planning and organization to elevate the academy’s status. Al-Sufi pledged to enhance training and qualification standards to produce competent leaders capable of advancing the military institution.

The inauguration ceremony saw the presence of several military leaders, including Assistant Minister of Defense Major General Saleh Hassan, Head of Intelligence Major General Ahmed Al-Yafei, Head of Human Resources Major General Ahmed Al-Marzouqi, and Military Academy Director Major General Abdul Karim Al-Zumahi. Other notable attendees included the Commander of the Military Police Major General Mohammed Al-Shaari, Deputy Inspector General Major General Musfer Al-Harithi, and various other military officials.

This launch of the 2025 training year signifies a renewed commitment to strengthening Yemen’s military capabilities and ensuring the readiness of its forces in the face of ongoing challenges.
