The High Committee has concluded its investigation into the tragic bus fire incident that occurred in the Abyan Governorate’s Al-Arqoub area. This unfortunate event resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries among passengers.

Committee Leadership and Findings

The committee, led by Minister of Transport Dr. Abdul Salam Hamid, included key members such as Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Qasim Baheeb, Abyan Governor Abubakr Hussein, Deputy Minister of Public Works and Roads Dr. Mohammed Thabet, and Engineer Hussein Awad, Chairman of the Roads and Bridges Maintenance Fund. They reviewed reports and documents from relevant authorities in land transport, road maintenance, security, and health. Additionally, testimonies from survivors and injured passengers provided crucial insights into the circumstances surrounding the journey, which began in Saudi Arabia.

Actions Taken and Future Recommendations

Following their findings, the committee decided to suspend the operations of the transport company involved. They identified significant technical and operational deficiencies. Within the next two days, the committee will submit a comprehensive report to the Prime Minister. This report will include the investigation results, all relevant documents, and mandatory recommendations for concerned authorities to prevent similar incidents in the future.
