The Gaza Health Ministry has revealed that approximately 6,000 individuals in the region suffer from amputations due to the ongoing Israeli conflict. The ministry emphasized the urgent need for both immediate and long-term rehabilitation programs, highlighting a severe shortage of medical resources and supportive tools.
The ministry’s report indicates that children account for 25% of the amputation cases, while women represent 12.7%. These statistics illustrate a profound humanitarian crisis that demands extensive psychological and social support, particularly for children affected by the conflict.
In light of these dire circumstances, the ministry has urged international organizations to intensify their efforts and expand interventions. They seek to provide essential rehabilitation and care services for the injured, underscoring the critical need for global assistance.
In related news, the Civil Defense announced the recovery of 20 bodies from the Sheikh Radwan clinic in Gaza City. Over the past 24 hours, the ministry reported three additional fatalities and several injuries. Since the conflict escalated on October 7, 2023, the total death toll has reached 69,182, with 170,694 individuals injured.
This ongoing crisis highlights the urgent need for humanitarian aid and support for the affected populations in Gaza.
