Today, Dr. Shaya’ Al-Zandani, Yemen’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, met with Patrick Simonnet, the European Union Ambassador to Yemen. The two officials focused on enhancing cooperation and partnership between Yemen and the EU, aiming to serve their mutual interests.
During the meeting, they addressed the current economic situation in Yemen. Minister Al-Zandani praised the EU’s efforts and contributions to supporting economic reforms. He emphasized that these reforms play a crucial role in alleviating humanitarian suffering and fostering economic recovery.
Minister Al-Zandani expressed gratitude for the EU’s supportive stance towards the Republic of Yemen. He highlighted the appreciation from the Presidential Leadership Council and the Yemeni government for the EU’s ongoing assistance. This support significantly contributes to peace, development, and stability in Yemen.
The Minister reaffirmed that recent measures would enhance the performance of state institutions. He stressed the importance of focusing efforts on the primary goal: eliminating the threat posed by Houthi militias and restoring the authority of state institutions. This approach aims to bolster security and stability across the nation.
In response, Ambassador Simonnet reiterated the EU’s commitment to supporting the Presidential Leadership Council and the Yemeni government. He emphasized the EU’s dedication to Yemen’s unity, security, and stability.
This meeting underscores the ongoing collaboration between Yemen and the European Union, highlighting their shared goals for a stable and prosperous future.
