Today, Dr. Shaya’ Al-Zandani, Yemen’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, engaged in a significant discussion with Qais Al-Amiri, the Iraqi Ambassador to Yemen. The two leaders focused on enhancing bilateral relations and coordinating political stances on shared regional issues.
During the meeting, Dr. Al-Zandani praised the deep historical ties between Yemen and Iraq. He expressed a strong desire to strengthen mutual cooperation and expand coordination across various sectors. This commitment reflects both countries’ dedication to fostering a robust partnership.
Dr. Al-Zandani emphasized the Presidential Leadership Council’s and the Yemeni government’s commitment to supporting all peace initiatives. These initiatives aim to end the Houthi coup and establish a just and lasting peace. The minister highlighted the urgent need to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people and to bring an end to the conflict instigated by Houthi militias.
In response, Ambassador Al-Amiri reaffirmed Iraq’s steadfast support for the Presidential Leadership Council and Yemen’s unity and stability. He reiterated Iraq’s commitment to efforts aimed at achieving comprehensive peace and ending the ongoing war.
Ambassador Al-Amiri also expressed Iraq’s eagerness to strengthen cooperation in various fields that benefit both nations and their peoples. This mutual interest in collaboration underscores the importance of solidarity between Yemen and Iraq as they navigate regional challenges together.
