Yemen’s Foreign Minister and Minister of Expatriates, Dr. Sha’if Al-Zindani, has arrived in Rome, Italy, to participate in the High-Level Mediterranean Dialogues Forum. This significant event is scheduled to take place from November 25 to November 27.
During his visit, Minister Al-Zindani will hold discussions with Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani. They will focus on strengthening the bilateral relations between Yemen and Italy, two nations that share a friendly partnership.
The Mediterranean Dialogues Forum serves as a vital international platform. It addresses regional issues and the common challenges facing the Mediterranean area and its surroundings. This forum aims to foster collaboration among nations to tackle pressing concerns effectively.
Minister Al-Zindani will participate in a special session dedicated to discussing security in the Red Sea, particularly from the Suez Canal to Bab el-Mandeb. The session will explore the political and security dimensions crucial for ensuring stability in international waterways. Current regional conditions necessitate a thorough examination of the challenges facing the Yemeni government and the international community. The focus will be on securing these maritime routes amid escalating threats from Iranian-backed Houthi militias targeting commercial vessels.
In addition to the forum, Minister Al-Zindani plans to conduct bilateral meetings with foreign ministers from several friendly and allied nations. These discussions will cover various topics, including bilateral relations, shared security and economic challenges, and ways to support Yemen. The minister aims to enhance regional and international stability through these engagements.
The participation of Yemen’s Foreign Minister in the Mediterranean Dialogues Forum underscores the importance of international cooperation in addressing regional security challenges. Through meaningful dialogue and collaboration, Yemen seeks to strengthen its ties with other nations while addressing the critical issues affecting its stability and security.
