A new program in feminist humanitarian and developmental studies has been launched at Aden University.

Launch of a Specialized Program in Feminist Humanitarian and Development Studies at Aden University

Today, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Amin Noman, the Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Fisheries, Salem Al-Saqtri, and the President of Aden University, Dr. Khader Lsour, inaugurated a specialized executive program in feminist humanitarian and development studies at the Women’s Center for Humanitarian and Development Studies at Aden University.

Emphasizing the Importance of Education

Dr. Amin Noman highlighted the ministry’s commitment to enhancing knowledge and expanding educational and training opportunities. He stated that universities serve as the foundation for any path toward national development and progress, emphasizing that achieving this goal cannot occur outside their walls.

Recognizing Women’s Contributions

Minister Salem Al-Saqtri praised the active role of women in society and their growing contributions across various scientific, developmental, and national fields. He stressed the importance of supporting programs that empower women and enhance their scientific and professional capabilities. Furthermore, he pointed out the need for collaboration between academic institutions and government sectors to leverage educational outcomes and specialized programs, thereby increasing women’s participation in development and community service.

Dr. Khader Lsour, President of Aden University, affirmed the significance of launching the specialized executive program at the Women’s Center for Humanitarian and Development Studies. He described it as a valuable addition to the academic and specialized programs offered by the university. He noted the university’s commitment to developing its programs to align with scientific and societal changes, thereby enhancing its role in addressing community issues.

Dr. Said Al-Qashbari, Deputy Director of the Women’s Center for Humanitarian and Development Studies, presented the program’s objectives. He explained that the program aims to build specialized knowledge and skills among students, linking academic pursuits with the real needs and issues of the community. This approach will create broader opportunities for research and study on women’s issues and contribute to preparing qualified personnel capable of addressing these challenges based on scientific and methodological foundations. Additionally, it will strengthen the center’s role in serving the community and advancing specialized knowledge.
