Defense Minister Discusses Strengthening Cooperation with Islamic Military Alliance Against Terrorism

Today, Yemen’s Defense Minister, Lieutenant General Mohsen Al-Daari, met with Major General Mohammed Al-Moghaidi, Secretary-General of the Islamic Military Alliance Against Terrorism, to enhance collaborative efforts between Yemen and the alliance. This meeting took place at the alliance’s headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

During the visit, Minister Al-Daari emphasized the critical role of the Islamic Military Alliance in combating terrorism, which has severely affected many countries, including Yemen. He highlighted the necessity of a united front against this global threat.

Overview of the Alliance’s Efforts

Minister Al-Daari received a brief overview of the alliance’s initiatives in various domains, including ideological, media, and military strategies, as well as efforts to combat the financing of terrorism. The alliance aims to coordinate the actions of its member states to create a more effective response to terrorism.

The defense minister acknowledged the pivotal role the Islamic Military Alliance plays in safeguarding the interests of its member countries in the fight against terrorism in all its forms. He commended Saudi Arabia’s leadership and its commitment to establishing and supporting this alliance, which has made significant contributions to countering terrorism and eliminating its root causes.

Commitment to International Standards

In response, Major General Al-Moghaidi explained that the Islamic Military Alliance represents a comprehensive framework designed to foster cooperation among member states. He noted that the alliance is built on principles of legitimacy, independence, coordination, and participation. Furthermore, it ensures that all actions and efforts by member countries in the fight against terrorism align with international laws and norms.

This meeting underscores the ongoing commitment of Yemen and the Islamic Military Alliance to work together in the global struggle against terrorism, reinforcing their dedication to peace and security in the region.
