President Alimi Visits Joint Forces Command in Yemen

In a significant display of leadership, Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, visited the Joint Forces Command headquarters of the Coalition Supporting Legitimacy in Yemen. He received a warm welcome from Major General Fahd bin Hamad Al-Sulami, the commander of the joint forces, along with senior officials.

Enhancing Military Coordination and Capabilities

During his visit, President Alimi engaged in discussions regarding joint coordination mechanisms and bilateral cooperation programs. These initiatives aim to strengthen the capabilities of the Yemeni armed forces in areas such as security, stability, counter-terrorism, smuggling prevention, and combating organized crime. The emphasis on collaboration highlights the commitment to ensuring a secure environment in Yemen.

Commending Progress and Humanitarian Support

President Alimi praised the qualitative advancements observed within the joint forces. He acknowledged their effective support for the Yemeni armed forces and their crucial role in providing humanitarian and developmental assistance to the Yemeni people across various sectors. This recognition underscores the importance of international cooperation in addressing Yemen’s ongoing challenges.

Acknowledging Saudi Arabia’s Support

The President expressed deep appreciation for the commendable support from Saudi Arabia, led by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. He highlighted their dedication to alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people and their efforts to restore state institutions, security, stability, peace, and development. This acknowledgment reinforces the strong ties between Yemen and Saudi Arabia in the pursuit of common goals.

Accompanying Delegation and Saudi Participation

Accompanying President Alimi during this pivotal visit were Dr. Yahya Al-Shaibi, Director of the Presidency Office, along with several officials and military leaders. From the Saudi side, Major General Pilot Abdullah Al-Ghamdi, Deputy Commander of the Joint Forces, and other leaders from the Coalition Supporting Legitimacy in Yemen were present. Their joint presence highlights the collaborative efforts between the two nations in addressing the complexities of the Yemeni crisis.

The visit marks a crucial step in fortifying military cooperation and enhancing the capabilities of Yemen’s armed forces, while also reaffirming the commitment to humanitarian support and regional stability.
