Several individuals were killed and injured in Ibb Governorate, Yemen, during the second day of Eid al-Fitr. This incident highlights the alarming security situation in the region, which is under the control of Houthi militia.
Local sources reported that armed clashes erupted between the Al-Shahrani and Al-Sharif tribes in the Bani Muharram district of Ibb. The conflict resulted in four fatalities and injuries to two others from both families.
The clashes reignited due to ongoing tribal disputes. Sources indicated that Houthi leaders sided with the Al-Sharif family against the Al-Shahrani tribe, exacerbating the tensions that led to the renewed violence. Additionally, these leaders reportedly released suspects involved in the murder of Mohammed Hamoud Al-Shahrani, which occurred in late October.
This incident follows the killing of a civilian by armed assailants in the Al-Makhader district, located north of Ibb. Such events underscore the deteriorating security conditions in the governorate.
Ibb Governorate has experienced a significant rise in crime, including daily killings and incidents of theft. The increasing lawlessness poses a serious threat to the safety and security of residents across various districts in the region.
As the situation continues to unfold, local authorities face mounting pressure to restore order and address the rampant violence affecting the community.
