Shura Council head praises Arab Parliament’s efforts in advocating for the Yemeni cause.

Yemeni Council President Applauds Arab Parliament's Support in Regional and International Forums

In a significant meeting held in Cairo, Egypt, Dr. Ahmed Obaid Bin Daghr, the President of the Yemeni Council of Shura, praised the Arab Parliament for its robust efforts in defending the Yemeni cause across regional and international platforms. The meeting, which saw the convergence of high-ranking officials, underscored the Arab Parliament’s unwavering support for the peace and stability of Yemen.

Dr. Bin Daghr emphasized the Arab Parliament’s role in leading a powerful parliamentary diplomacy aimed at advocating for Arab issues globally. This commitment was echoed during his discussions with Adel Al-Asoumi, the President of the Arab Parliament, highlighting a shared vision towards resolving the Yemeni crisis.

Unyielding Support for a Political Solution

Al-Asoumi reaffirmed the Arab Parliament’s full support for all Arab and international efforts geared towards achieving a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis. The strategy aligns with three key references: the Gulf Initiative and its implementation mechanism, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference, and particularly United Nations Security Council Resolution 2216. These frameworks collectively aim to restore peace and stability in Yemen, marking a roadmap towards reconciliation and rebuilding.

Moreover, the Arab Parliament’s backing extends to the Presidential Leadership Council’s endeavors to secure Yemen. Al-Asoumi expressed hope for the swift return of stability to Yemen, reflecting a broader aspiration for peace in the region.

A Unified Stance for Yemen’s Future

The meeting between Dr. Bin Daghr and Al-Asoumi in Cairo not only highlighted the ongoing diplomatic efforts but also reinforced the Arab Parliament’s commitment to supporting Yemen. By advocating for a political solution and backing the Presidential Leadership Council, the Arab Parliament stands as a pivotal player in the quest for peace in Yemen.

This diplomatic engagement in Cairo serves as a testament to the collaborative efforts aimed at navigating Yemen towards a stable and prosperous future. The Arab Parliament’s role exemplifies the collective Arab resolve to address and support the resolution of the Yemeni crisis, paving the way for lasting peace and stability in the region.
