On Sunday, Prime Minister Salem Saleh bin Brek welcomed a delegation from the World Bank, led by Regional Director Stefan Guimbert, who oversees Egypt, Yemen, and Djibouti. Key topics included strategies for achieving financial and institutional stability, the progress of ongoing projects, and future plans. The discussions also focused on mobilizing support for the economic recovery plan and continuing comprehensive reforms.
The meeting highlighted mechanisms to activate partnerships with the International Finance Corporation. Participants explored potential projects in the electricity sector and encouraged both local and foreign private investments in this vital area.

The Prime Minister outlined the government’s urgent priorities, focusing on economic and service sectors. He emphasized the importance of stabilizing the national currency, improving local revenues, and addressing critical sector imbalances in electricity, water, and health. Additionally, he highlighted the need to protect vulnerable populations by expanding cash and food support programs.
In response, the World Bank delegation leader reaffirmed the Bank’s commitment to supporting the Yemeni government and its economic and developmental priorities. He expressed the Bank’s dedication to enhancing institutional capacity and strengthening partnerships with the private sector. The delegation aims to expand its programs in Yemen and collaborate closely with the government.
