Sayun Wins, Al-Sha’ab Runner-Up in 6th Hadhramaut Club Cultural Championship

Sayun Cultural Club Crowned Champions of Hadhramaut Cultural Clubs Tournament

In an exhilarating finale at the Youth Hall of the Olympic Stadium in Sayun, the Sayun Cultural Club emerged victorious in the sixth edition of the Hadhramaut Cultural Clubs Tournament. They clinched the title after a competitive match against the cultural team of Sha’ab Hadhramaut Club, marking a significant achievement in the cultural sports scene.

A Gathering of Cultural Titans

The tournament saw the participation of eight cultural teams, including four from the Wadi Hadhramaut region—Sayun, Youth of Al-Qatn, Union of Hawra, and Al-Ta’awun of Al-Aqad—and an equal number from the coastal region of Hadhramaut, comprising Sha’ab, Al-Tadamun, Sam’oon, and Al-Nukhba. This assembly of teams underscored the event’s significance, bringing together diverse talents from across the region.

Organized under the auspices of the Hadhramaut Cultural Cup Committee and supervised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports office in Hadhramaut, the tournament celebrated the rich cultural heritage and intellectual prowess of the region’s youth.

Celebrations and Acknowledgments

Amer Al-Ameri, the Deputy Governor for the Wadi and Desert Directorates, extended his congratulations to both the champions and the runners-up for their outstanding achievements. He lauded the Hadhramaut Cultural Cup Committee for the successful organization of the tournament, highlighting the crucial role of intellectuals in enlightening the nation and resolving complex issues.

Khaled Al-Qahoum, the head of the Hadhramaut Cultural Cup Committee, praised the tournament for its unique blend of culture, heritage, and tourism. He appreciated the participants’ journey through realms of thought, knowledge, and creativity, enriching the competition for everyone involved. Al-Qahoum also acknowledged the support from the local authority leadership and the Ministry of Youth and Sports offices in both Wadi and Coastal Hadhramaut for their contributions to the event’s success.

A Tribute to Cultural Heritage

The closing ceremony featured a documentary titled “The Beautiful Cultural Meeting,” which chronicled the tournament’s journey since its inception in 2018. It highlighted the organizing committee’s efforts and included a dialogue session with poet Mohammed Ba’abid. The event also paid homage to Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Saqqaf, the first president of the Cultural Social Committee in the governorate, honoring his service to the cultural and sports sector.

This year’s Hadhramaut Cultural Clubs Tournament not only celebrated the winners but also showcased the vibrant cultural fabric of the region, promising a bright future for its intellectual and creative endeavors.
