On Friday, participants in the weekly demonstration held in Marib renewed their full support for the Palestinian people. They condemned the ongoing acts of genocide committed by Israeli forces in Gaza and the recent escalation in the West Bank.
In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), demonstrators expressed unwavering solidarity with the residents of Gaza and the steadfast individuals in the West Bank and other occupied Palestinian cities. They affirmed their support for the legitimate national struggle against occupation, emphasizing the right of Palestinians to resist until they achieve freedom and dignity in their homeland.
The statement highlighted the importance of sustained Arab and Islamic support for the Palestinian cause, recognizing it as a central issue for the entire nation. Participants urged for enhanced resilience among Palestinians as they confront the last colonial power, advocating for their independence and the restoration of their rights to establish an independent state.
Demonstrators condemned the continuous genocide and systematic starvation policies imposed by Israeli forces on Gaza’s residents. They also criticized the alarming escalation of violence in the West Bank, where settlers perpetrate killings, assaults, and destruction of Palestinian homes and farmland. The relentless expansion of settlements exacerbates the humanitarian crisis and threatens regional and international stability.
The statement denounced the unjustified silence of the international community regarding the ongoing Israeli crimes in Gaza. Participants labeled this silence as complicity and a disgrace to humanity. They called upon the United Nations and the Security Council to fulfill their legal and moral responsibilities concerning the situation in Gaza. They urged these bodies to take firm stances that would compel Israel to cease its brutal aggression and intensify humanitarian efforts to assist civilians who have endured a blockade for over 462 consecutive days.
The demonstration in Marib serves as a poignant reminder of the ongoing struggle for Palestinian rights and the urgent need for global awareness and intervention. As the situation continues to unfold, the voices of solidarity echo louder, calling for justice and peace in the region.
