Today, the Yemeni government announced significant changes in leadership with the appointment of new governors for the provinces of Lahij, Abyan, and Al-Dhale’e. These decisions aim to enhance local governance and address regional challenges.
The Presidential Decree No. (7) for the year 2026 officially appoints Mr. Murad Ali Mohammed Abdulhai Al-Halimi as the new governor of Lahij. This appointment reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening leadership in the region.
In a related move, the government issued Presidential Decree No. (8) for the year 2026, designating Dr. Mukhtar Bin Al-Khadr Al-Rabash Al-Haythami as the governor of Abyan. Dr. Al-Haythami’s expertise is expected to contribute positively to the province’s development.
Furthermore, Presidential Decree No. (9) for the year 2026 appoints Brigadier Ahmed Qaid Saleh Qasim Al-Quba as the governor of Al-Dhale’e. In addition to his new role, he will serve as the commander of the Al-Dhale’e Axis and lead the National Security Forces in the province. This appointment elevates him to the rank of Major General, underscoring the importance of security in the region.
The second article of these decrees states that they will take effect immediately upon publication in the official gazette. This swift implementation aims to ensure a seamless transition in leadership.
These appointments mark a crucial step in the Yemeni government’s efforts to enhance governance and security across these provinces. The new governors are expected to address local issues effectively and foster development in their respective regions.
