Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), the reigning champions of Ligue 1, faced another setback this season, suffering a 1-2 defeat at home against AS Monaco in their third match of the campaign. This loss leaves PSG without a victory, as they remain winless after three games.
PSG initially took the lead in the 31st minute, thanks to a well-placed pass from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to captain Marquinhos, who scored the opening goal. However, Monaco responded strongly in the second half. In the 58th minute, Portuguese player Flávio Nazinho equalized with a header. The decisive moment came in the 72nd minute when Belgian striker Stanislas Moutou scored the winning goal, assisted by Aleksandr Golovin. Although PSG managed to net a late goal through Ferran Torres, the referee disallowed it for offside.
Monaco now sits at the top of the Ligue 1 table with a perfect 9 points from three consecutive wins. In contrast, PSG finds itself in a troubling 12th place, accumulating only 2 points from two draws against Rennes and Lille, alongside their defeat to Monaco.
