Brigadier General Abdul Majli, spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces, affirmed the military’s readiness and complete combat preparedness to establish security and stability across the nation. He emphasized the importance of reinforcing the state’s sovereignty over all Yemeni territory.
In a statement to the Middle East newspaper, General Majli warned of the ongoing threats posed by the Houthi militia. He highlighted their attacks on commercial vessels and the risks these pose to the security of the Red Sea and international shipping lanes. He noted that these aggressions reflect the militia’s ties to Iranian interests aimed at destabilizing Yemen’s national and regional security while threatening international interests.
General Majli explained that, under the guidance of political leadership, the Yemeni Armed Forces continue to coordinate with the Saudi-led Coalition to counter Houthi threats. This collaboration aims to secure maritime routes, protect international navigation, and combat Houthi terrorism. He described this effort as a national responsibility and a steadfast commitment to safeguarding Yemen and the region.
The spokesperson confirmed that the Yemeni Armed Forces maintain the highest levels of combat readiness. They possess the operational capability and high morale necessary to execute various military missions and defend the sovereignty of the Republic of Yemen. He assured that, with the support of the Yemeni people, the military will continue its national duty until state institutions are restored and security and stability are achieved.
General Majli clarified that the military operations conducted by the Coalition were responses to Houthi attacks on Saudi vessels in the Red Sea. These operations adhered to international humanitarian law, with a focus on protecting the resources of the Yemeni people. He also confirmed that all Yemeni ports remain open to maritime traffic, continuing to receive commercial vessels carrying food, fuel, and various goods.
General Majli pointed out that the Iranian regime and the Houthi militia persist in rejecting peace initiatives while escalating tensions and threatening regional security, particularly that of Saudi Arabia. This behavior underscores their determination to undermine security and stability while attempting to obscure their crimes and violations against the Yemeni people.
He urged citizens in areas under Houthi control not to allow their children to be drawn into combat or exploited as fuel for a losing war. He stressed that the militia’s actions would only strengthen the Yemeni people’s resolve to restore the state and end the coup.
General Majli expressed gratitude for the steadfast support of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He acknowledged their ongoing efforts to assist the Yemeni people, alleviate their suffering, and enhance security and stability in Yemen and the surrounding region.
This article highlights the Yemeni Armed Forces’ commitment to national security and their ongoing efforts to counter threats from the Houthi militia, while also recognizing the support from Saudi Arabia in these endeavors.
