Meteorologists predict mild weather along the coasts, relatively hot conditions in deserts, and rain in mountainous areas.

Weather Forecast: Mild Conditions Expected Along Coastal Areas

The General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology’s Weather Forecast Center predicts clear to partly cloudy weather for coastal regions and nearby areas today, Wednesday. The temperatures will remain moderate, with a chance of scattered rain in parts of the Socotra Archipelago. Additionally, moderate winds will pick up along the southwestern and western coasts.

Mountainous Regions: Cloudy with Rain Chances

In its daily weather bulletin, which the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) received, the center forecasts partly to mostly cloudy conditions in the mountainous areas. Scattered rain, occasionally accompanied by thunder, may occur in parts of the northwestern highlands. Meanwhile, the desert and plateau regions will experience generally clear and relatively hot weather, with moderate winds occasionally stirring up dust and sand.

Temperature Expectations

According to the weather bulletin, the expected maximum and minimum temperatures for today in coastal areas are as follows:

  • Aden: 31°C / 25°C
  • Mukalla: 30°C / 23°C
  • Hodeidah: 31°C / 25°C
  • Socotra: 32°C / 23°C
  • Mokha: 31°C / 25°C
  • Al-Ghaydah: 31°C / 21°C
  • Zinjibar: 30°C / 23°C
  • Lahij: 32°C / 22°C

In desert and plateau areas, temperatures will be:

  • Sayun: 37°C / 14°C
  • Marib: 34°C / 18°C
  • Ataq: 33°C / 20°C
  • Beihan: 33°C / 18°C

For mountainous regions, the temperatures are expected to be:

  • Sana’a: 29°C / 11°C
  • Taiz: 30°C / 15°C
  • Dhamar: 28°C / 06°C
  • Al-Dhale: 28°C / 18°C
  • Ibb: 28°C / 13°C
  • Al-Bayda: 27°C / 09°C

Safety Warnings for Citizens

The center urges citizens in the aforementioned mountainous areas to exercise caution. They should avoid valleys and flood channels during and after rainfall. Drivers in regions expecting rain should be aware of reduced visibility.

Marine Conditions: Caution Advised

In its daily marine bulletin, the Weather Forecast Center anticipates calm seas along the coasts of Al-Mahra, Hadramout, Shabwa, Abyan, Aden, and the Socotra Archipelago. The Bab al-Mandab area will see light to moderate waves, while the western coasts will experience moderate waves. The regional waters in the Arabian Sea will also have light to moderate waves, with moderate conditions expected in the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea.

The center warns fishermen and sea-goers along the southwestern coasts, Bab al-Mandab, Meyyun Island, and the Red Sea of potential sea disturbances.
