Casualties Rise in Israeli Airstrikes on Lebanon

The number of casualties from Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon has surged to 3,117 dead and 13,888 injured since October 8, 2023. This information comes from the Public Health Emergency Operations Center, which released its latest report on Friday.

Daily Casualty Report

The center’s daily report indicates that yesterday alone, the airstrikes resulted in 15 fatalities and 69 injuries. The total number of casualties among emergency responders has reached 180 dead and 306 injured since the onset of the conflict. Additionally, the report highlights that Israeli forces targeted 244 vehicles, carried out 65 attacks on hospitals, and 87 assaults on medical and emergency centers. Furthermore, there were 213 attacks on ambulance services.

Ongoing Conflict and Military Operations

Israeli warplanes began a series of extensive airstrikes on September 23, which continue to this day. These strikes have targeted various regions across Lebanon. On October 1, the Israeli military initiated a focused ground operation in southern Lebanon, escalating the conflict further.

Impact on Civilian Life

The airstrikes have devastated civilian infrastructure, including homes, health facilities, and roads. This violence has triggered a massive wave of displacement, with over 1.2 million people fleeing from affected areas.

The ongoing conflict poses significant challenges for Lebanon’s residents and emergency services, highlighting the urgent need for humanitarian assistance and international intervention.
