The International Organization for Migration (IOM) reported that 114 individuals were displaced in Yemen over the past week. Most of these families have settled in Marib, located in the northeastern part of the country.
According to the IOM’s latest report, 19 families experienced displacement at least once between June 7 and June 13, 2026. Notably, 84% of these newly displaced families—16 in total—arrived in Marib, primarily from the governorates of Hodeidah and Taiz. The remaining families dispersed between Taiz and Hodeidah.
The report highlights that 74% of the recorded displacements stemmed from economic factors linked to ongoing conflict. Additionally, 12% of families, or four families, fled due to safety and security concerns. One family, accounting for 5%, was forced to relocate due to natural disasters.
The report emphasizes that food assistance ranks as the top priority for newly displaced families, with 53% citing it as their primary need. Shelter requirements follow closely at 26%, while financial support accounts for 16%. Non-food items represent the least urgent need at 5%.
Furthermore, the IOM noted a significant increase in the total number of internally displaced persons since the beginning of the year, now totaling 1,155 families, which equates to approximately 6,930 individuals.
