The Security Media Center of the Ministry of Interior has reported that security forces in the provinces of Taiz, Aden, and Abyan have initiated legal procedures following three separate drowning incidents. These tragic events resulted in the deaths of a child, an adult, and a young man. The ministry emphasized the importance of adhering to safety guidelines while swimming and boating.
In Taiz, police in the Mawasit district have begun an investigation into the drowning of an 11-year-old boy. The child drowned while swimming in a water pool at a park in the Al-Ain area. He was with his family at the time of the incident, highlighting the critical need for vigilance when supervising children during swimming activities.
A drowning incident also occurred in Aden, where a 55-year-old man lost his life while swimming at the beach in the Tawahi district. Security forces are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident to ensure coastal safety. The recurrence of such incidents underscores the urgent need for community awareness regarding the dangers of swimming in unmonitored areas.
In Abyan, a 23-year-old Ethiopian man drowned after a boat capsized, which authorities suspect was being used for smuggling undocumented migrants. Relevant agencies have launched an investigation into the incident to ensure water safety and combat smuggling operations.
The Ministry of Interior has reiterated the importance of safety compliance for beachgoers and those engaging in water activities. They urged the public to supervise children while swimming and to avoid dangerous locations to protect lives and reduce drowning incidents. Safety must remain a priority for everyone.
