Houthi Militias Storm Mosque in Ibb Governorate

In a troubling incident, Houthi militias invaded a mosque in the village of Daras, located in the Ibb Governorate. This event occurred on Friday and has raised significant concerns among local residents.

Local Sources Report Disturbance

Local sources indicate that a Houthi vehicle entered the mosque during prayer time, causing panic among worshippers and students attending Quran memorization classes. The sudden intrusion disrupted the peaceful atmosphere of the mosque, alarming those present.

Justification for the Invasion

The Houthi militia claimed they acted on a tip-off regarding the presence of “terrorists” in the mosque, allegedly armed with computers and cameras. However, many locals question the validity of this justification, viewing it as a pretext for their aggressive actions.

Community Outcry and Calls for Accountability

After the invasion, the militia left the mosque without offering any apology to the worshippers or the community. Local residents have expressed their outrage, emphasizing the need for accountability and respect for the mosque’s visitors and the students of the Quran memorization center.

Ongoing Security Concerns

Residents of the area condemned the militia’s actions, highlighting that they were based on false information. Furthermore, they criticized the militia for ignoring community calls to enhance security in the village. Recently, several homes in the area have faced attacks and burglaries by unknown individuals, raising fears about safety and stability.

This incident underscores the ongoing tensions in the region and the urgent need for improved security measures to protect local communities from further disturbances.
