Houthi militia besieges homes and farms of Bani Nof tribes in western Al-Jawf region.

Houthi Militias Surround Homes and Farms of Bani Nof Tribes in Al-Jawf

The Houthi militia continues to encircle the homes and farms of the Bani Nof tribes in western Al-Jawf province, escalating tensions in the region since last night.

Local Reports of Houthi Encirclement

Local sources indicate that the Houthi militia has deployed vehicles and armored units to blockade the residences and agricultural lands of Bani Nof tribe members in the Al-Masloub district of western Al-Jawf. This aggressive move has left many families trapped, with homes overcrowded with women and children.

Hostage Situation Sparks Tensions

On Sunday, armed members of the Bani Nof tribe detained a Houthi vehicle and several individuals onboard. This action aimed to pressure the militia into releasing Sheikh Ahmed Al-Santail’s son and grandson, who the Houthis abducted earlier near the borders of Al-Jawf and Marib provinces. The hostage situation highlights the ongoing conflict between the tribes and the militia.

Ongoing Conflict Between Bani Nof and Houthi Militias

For years, sporadic clashes have erupted between the Bani Nof tribe and the Houthi militia due to the latter’s violations against tribal members. The current standoff marks another chapter in the protracted struggle for autonomy and safety faced by the tribes in the region.

As the situation develops, community leaders and local residents remain on high alert, hoping for a resolution that prioritizes the safety of civilians caught in the crossfire.
