On Saturday, the leadership of the Parliament, along with heads of parliamentary blocs, convened a meeting chaired by Speaker Sheikh Sultan al-Barakani. The meeting aimed to address the latest developments and changes in the country.
Conducted via video conference, the meeting reviewed ongoing national events and identified priorities for the current phase. Participants discussed the general direction of the Parliament’s work plan for the upcoming period. Additionally, they explored the procedures for launching parliamentary committees to engage in fieldwork.
The meeting also highlighted several issues related to the overall situation in the country. It acknowledged the economic, humanitarian, and service challenges facing the Yemeni people. The participants emphasized the importance of resuming parliamentary sessions to fulfill legislative and oversight responsibilities. They stressed the need for state institutions to perform their designated tasks effectively and to unify their efforts.
The leadership made several key decisions regarding the Parliament’s operations and the activities of its committees. These decisions aim to enhance the Parliament’s effectiveness in addressing the pressing issues facing Yemen today.
