On Thursday, the police in the Wadi and Desert region of Hadhramaut announced the swift arrest of the suspect in the murder of Colonel Lafi Ahmed Al-Amri, a member of the Ministry of Interior. This decisive action occurred less than 24 hours after the crime took place in the Tarba area, showcasing the effectiveness of local law enforcement.
Colonel Yasser Salem Al-Amri, head of the Criminal Investigation Department, reported that investigation teams promptly arrived at the crime scene upon receiving the alert. They conducted thorough inquiries, collected evidence, and meticulously traced the case’s leads. This diligent work led to the identification of the suspect, a 48-year-old man known as A.A.A.
Initial investigations revealed that the murder stemmed from personal disputes between the suspect and the victim. In a related development, the police in the Qatn district announced they had identified the suspect in the murder of citizen Ali Salem Batis. The suspect, identified as A.B.S., is currently being pursued, and authorities are working to complete the case file for referral to the relevant judicial bodies.
