In a significant meeting held today in Mukalla, Governor Mabkhout bin Madi engaged with a delegation from the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, led by Acting Commissioner Badr Farouk. The discussions centered on enhancing collaboration in the field of human rights, focusing on capacity building for relevant institutions and the implementation of joint programs aimed at promoting and protecting human rights in the governorate.
The meeting included several prominent officials, such as Major General Talib Saeed Barjash, Commander of the Second Military Region, Deputy Governor Fahmi Badawi, and Colonel Mutai Al-Minhali, Director General of Security and Police in Coastal Hadhramaut. Participants explored mechanisms for joint cooperation to strengthen the capabilities of military and security institutions, as well as judicial bodies. They emphasized the importance of raising awareness about human rights culture and organizing training courses and workshops to reinforce this understanding.
Acting Commissioner Badr Farouk praised the security stability in Hadhramaut. He noted the positive reports issued by the commission regarding the governorate, attributing this success to its commitment to law and order and the fruitful cooperation with the commission and its office in Hadhramaut.
This meeting marks a crucial step towards enhancing human rights practices in the region, demonstrating a shared commitment to fostering a culture of respect for human rights among local authorities and communities.
