Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism Speaks Out
Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism Muammar Al-Eryani has condemned the Houthi militia’s ongoing campaign of abductions and enforced disappearances in Ibb Governorate. Since May, the militia has targeted over 65 citizens, including local leaders, tribal sheikhs, social dignitaries, religious figures, academics, doctors, engineers, lawyers, and educators. Al-Eryani described these actions as a desperate attempt to break the will of the people in Ibb through force and terror.
Houthi Fear and Desperation
In a recent press statement, Al-Eryani highlighted that this frantic campaign reflects the Houthi militia’s panic and confusion amid the collapse of Iranian influence in the region. He noted their fear of facing a fate similar to that of Bashar al-Assad’s regime, which fell to the will of the Syrian people. This situation underscores the militia’s awareness of the fragility of its dark and sectarian agenda against the resilient spirit of the Yemeni people.
Historical Resilience of Ibb
Al-Eryani pointed out that the Houthi militia mistakenly believes that arrests, oppression, and brutality can subdue the people of Ibb. He reminded them that this governorate, known for producing the revolutionary intellect of September and its iconic figure, Ali Abdul-Mughni, along with the esteemed poet Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Maqalih, will always stand with the revolution and the republic. He asserted that Ibb will remain resistant to tyranny, regardless of the sacrifices required.
Call to Action for Local Leaders
The minister urged tribal leaders, dignitaries, and all political and civil society figures in Ibb to prevent the militia from wreaking havoc in the governorate and dragging its citizens into detention. He emphasized that history will not forgive those who fail to fulfill their national and moral responsibilities during this critical moment.
International Community’s Responsibility
Al-Eryani also called on the international community and human rights organizations to fulfill their legal and humanitarian responsibilities. He urged them to take a clear stance against these violations, act swiftly to halt them, and classify the Houthi militia as a terrorist organization. Furthermore, he stressed the need to support the legitimate government in restoring control over all Yemeni territories and alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people under the grip of this terrorist group.
Unyielding Spirit of the People
In conclusion, Al-Eryani reaffirmed that the will of the people of Ibb and all free Yemenis is stronger than the militia’s bullets and illegal detention centers. He declared that this terrorist group will not silence the voice of freedom and the republic. Ibb will remain proud, resilient, and steadfast against the Iranian death project and its criminal tools.
