Tarik Saleh Calls for Enhanced Collaboration Between Citizens and Authorities

Strengthening Community Engagement

Tarik Saleh, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, emphasized the need for increased cooperation between citizens and local authorities to ensure the success of public service projects. He directed the local government in Al Hudaydah province to protect public spaces, particularly coastal areas, and to prevent encroachments on state lands.

Community Gathering in Al Khawkhah

Saleh made these remarks during an Eid al-Adha gathering in Al Khawkhah, the capital of the liberated Al Hudaydah region. Local leaders, tribal chiefs, and dignitaries from the liberated areas attended the meeting. This visit aimed to connect with citizens, assess their conditions, and discuss various pressing issues.

Key Attendees and Discussions

Notable attendees included the First Deputy Governor Walid Al-Qudaimi, Police Chief Brigadier General Najeeb Warak, and Dr. Hassan Mutri, President of Al Hudaydah University. During the meeting, Saleh exchanged Eid greetings and discussed ways to enhance public services, local governance, the situation of displaced persons, security conditions, and the national struggle.

Investment in Fishermen’s Safety

Saleh announced his commitment to fund a project that will create a marine barrier to protect fishermen’s boats in Al Khawkhah from the sea’s unpredictable conditions, which cause significant annual losses. He also urged the expedited construction of Al Hudaydah University, pledging to increase his previous commitment from one billion to two billion Yemeni riyals upon completion of the first phase.

Local Authorities’ Role in Development

The council member stressed the importance of local authorities in serving citizens and highlighted the responsibilities of citizens in supporting relevant agencies to ensure project sustainability. He revealed plans to establish a development fund for the districts of Hays and Al Khawkhah, aimed at fostering growth in these areas, which hold aspirations for the liberation of all of Al Hudaydah and beyond.

Vigilance Against Houthi Threats

Saleh urged vigilance and preparation for the ongoing struggle, warning against neglecting the liberation efforts necessary to rescue communities under Houthi control in Al Hudaydah, Sana’a, and other areas dominated by Iranian-backed forces. He reaffirmed that liberation remains the ultimate goal.

Security Improvements and Community Cooperation

He noted the significant improvements in security in liberated areas and called for enhanced collaboration between citizens and security forces to counter Houthi plots aimed at disturbing public order.

Critique of Houthi Exploitation of Palestinian Cause

Saleh criticized the Houthis for exploiting the Palestinian cause for their gain, arguing that such rhetoric fails to provide real support to Palestinians and contradicts their actions against Yemenis, which include killing, displacement, and starvation.

Warning Against Internal Conflicts

He cautioned against internal disputes and conflicts among political parties, stating that the Houthis have previously exploited these divisions to infiltrate state institutions. Saleh emphasized that Yemenis in non-liberated areas rely on national forces to free them from the Iranian agenda and its proxies, namely the Houthi militia.

Call to Action for Media and Activists

Saleh urged media outlets to support the liberation and development efforts. He appealed to activists worldwide, who have left Yemen due to challenging circumstances, to recognize the ongoing struggle faced by people within Yemen. He stated, “If this struggle does not help, it should not harm it. Everyone’s goal is liberation and the restoration of institutional governance.”

This article highlights the ongoing efforts to enhance community engagement and development in Al Hudaydah, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between citizens and authorities in overcoming challenges and achieving liberation.
