Marib, Yemen – Sultan Al-Araada, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council and Governor of Marib, conducted an inspection of the Marib International Airport project today. His visit aimed to assess the progress of construction work on the runway, terminals, and associated administrative buildings.
During the visit, Al-Araada met with project managers and supervising engineers. They provided a comprehensive overview of the project’s execution phases, completion percentages, and the challenges faced. The team also discussed the timelines set for completing the work according to approved technical specifications.
Al-Araada toured several airport facilities, observing the ongoing work on the runway, terminals, and operational buildings. He praised the efforts of the engineering teams and workers involved in the project, highlighting their dedication and hard work.
In a statement during his visit, Al-Araada expressed satisfaction with the progress made. “We came today to review the work at Marib International Airport, and thankfully, we noticed significant advancements in various construction and technical tasks. The project has reached an important stage, with many construction activities nearing completion,” he stated.
Al-Araada noted that the engineers had effectively built upon previous efforts, particularly regarding technical equipment and essential facilities required for airport operations. This approach will expedite the project’s completion and ensure it meets necessary technical standards.
Al-Araada emphasized that Marib International Airport serves primarily as a humanitarian and service project. He highlighted its crucial role in supporting development, investment, and stability in the region. “Airports are vital infrastructure that facilitates the movement of citizens and enhances connectivity,” he remarked.
He stressed the need to expedite the remaining work so that the airport can begin serving citizens across the republic. “Airports are not just for a specific province or area; they represent a national and humanitarian service that benefits all citizens, regardless of their location,” Al-Araada concluded.
This project aims to alleviate the challenges faced by the public and enhance overall accessibility in Yemen.
