Meeting with Dhammar Governor Highlights Humanitarian Concerns

On the evening of December 24, 2024, Major General Aidarus al-Zubaidi, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, met with Governor Ali al-Qusi of Dhammar Province. This meeting focused on the pressing humanitarian situation in Dhammar, which remains under the control of Houthi militias.

Overview of the Humanitarian Situation

During the meeting, Major General al-Zubaidi received detailed insights from Governor al-Qusi regarding the dire humanitarian conditions in Dhammar. The governor elaborated on the various challenges faced by the local population, particularly the crimes perpetrated by the Houthi militias against civilians. These issues have escalated in recent months, causing widespread concern among residents and humanitarian organizations.

Call for Unity Against Houthi Militias

Major General al-Zubaidi called on all citizens in Houthi-controlled areas to unite against the oppressive actions of these militias. He emphasized the importance of collective efforts to confront what he described as the “terrorist arrogance” of the Houthis. According to al-Zubaidi, these militias have transformed the region into a platform for executing Iran’s expansionist agendas and launching attacks that threaten the national security of Yemen as well as regional and global interests.

Confidence in the People’s Awareness

Al-Zubaidi expressed his belief that the terrorism inflicted by the Houthi militias will not persist. He assured that their Iranian-funded project will soon face an end at the hands of the courageous and free people of Yemen. He noted the growing awareness among the populace, who are increasingly skeptical of the hollow slogans propagated by the militias. The general pointed out that these slogans, often cloaked in false national and pan-Arab rhetoric, fail to deceive the informed citizenry.

Appreciation from the Dhammar Governor

In response, Governor al-Qusi expressed his gratitude for Major General al-Zubaidi’s ongoing efforts to unify the ranks of various forces opposing the Iranian-backed Houthi militias. He acknowledged the crucial role that al-Zubaidi plays in coordinating positions among these groups and providing steadfast support to all those resisting the Houthis across different provinces.

This meeting underscores the urgent need for a collaborative approach to address the humanitarian crisis and combat the challenges posed by the Houthi militias in Yemen.
