Bluesky launches a feature that prevents users’ posts from appearing in the Discover feed.

Bloskai Introduces New Feature for Enhanced User Control Over Posts

Bloskai has launched an innovative feature that empowers users to manage the visibility of their posts more effectively. Users can now opt out of the algorithmic Discover feed, ensuring that their posts do not appear to individuals who do not follow them. This update aims to address concerns about unintentional exposure to a wide audience.

Addressing User Concerns About Post Visibility

The new feature specifically targets users who worry about their posts reaching millions of strangers without context. Bloskai acknowledges that not everyone desires widespread visibility. Many users prefer to share content only with those they know, and this update caters to that preference.

While this option does not make accounts completely private, it limits the discoverability of posts through the algorithm. Users can still visit accounts and view posts, but the likelihood of those posts appearing in the Discover feed will decrease significantly. This feature represents Bloskai’s closest offering to privacy, especially since the platform does not currently support private accounts.

Limitations of the New Setting

Bloskai clarified that this setting does not prevent others from taking screenshots or sharing posts. Additionally, other applications built on the AT Proto protocol may choose to respect or ignore this setting, which could affect how posts are shared across platforms.

How to Activate the Discover Post Hiding Feature

Users can activate this new feature by following these simple steps:

  1. Navigate to the privacy and security settings within the app.
  2. Enable the option labeled “Ask apps to hide my posts from algorithmic recommendations.”

It may take up to an hour for this setting to take full effect.

Additional New Features

In addition to the post visibility feature, Bloskai has announced support for uploading videos up to 10 minutes long. The platform also introduced new customization options for content feeds. These updates aim to provide users with greater control over their experience on Bloskai.
