The Palestinian Foreign Ministry welcomes the UN’s adoption of a series of resolutions supporting Palestine.

Palestinian Foreign Ministry Welcomes UN General Assembly’s Support for Palestine
The Palestinian Foreign Ministry expressed its gratitude following the United Nations General Assembly’s adoption of a series of resolutions aimed at supporting Palestine. These resolutions, approved by the Fourth Committee on Special Political Issues and Decolonization, address critical issues such as assistance for Palestinian refugees, the renewal of UNRWA’s mandate, and the protection of refugee properties. Additionally, they condemn Israeli practices that violate human rights and illegal settlement activities, while also addressing the work of the Special Committee investigating Israeli actions in the occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem.
International Support Highlights Palestinian Cause
The ministry emphasized that this unprecedented international support underscores the significance of the Palestinian cause in the global conscience. It reflects a strong rejection of Israeli colonial occupation policies. The voting results demonstrate the steadfast international stance in favor of Palestinian rights, particularly regarding the continued mandate of UNRWA and the protection of refugees and their properties.
Rejection of Occupation and Violations
The Palestinian Foreign Ministry reiterated that this international position firmly opposes annexation, settlement expansion, forced displacement, collective punishment, and the widespread destruction of infrastructure in the occupied territories. It also condemned the ongoing violence in Gaza, labeling these actions as serious violations of international humanitarian law and UN Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2334.
Call for Action and Self-Determination
The ministry expressed deep appreciation for the countries that voted in favor of these resolutions. It urged the international community to translate this political and legal stance into practical measures that ensure the protection of the Palestinian people. Furthermore, it emphasized the importance of recognizing their right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state based on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital. This, the ministry argues, represents the only path to achieving peace, security, and stability in the region.
The Palestinian Foreign Ministry’s call for action highlights the ongoing struggle for Palestinian rights and the need for international support to foster a just resolution to the conflict.
