The eastern entrance to Taiz city has reopened for civilian movement after being closed for several hours due to an attack by Houthi militia on military positions and surrounding areas. This assault disrupted traffic and posed a danger to civilians.
Military sources reported that the Houthi militia launched an attack using various types of weapons and shells on the Al-Tashrifat camp adjacent to the entrance. This attack coincided with an attempt by three armored vehicles to advance through the area. However, government forces successfully repelled the assault, inflicting casualties among the militia.
The attack caused widespread panic and fear among civilians. Traffic came to a complete halt after Houthi snipers targeted the road from positions around the presidential palace.
The palace entrance serves as the only route leading to Taiz from the eastern side. Its significance lies in facilitating the movement of citizens and connecting the city with surrounding areas and roads.
