The meeting focused on the progress of the unit and the outcomes of the project’s first phase.
During the meeting, participants reviewed the ongoing arrangements to secure funding for the second phase of the project. This phase will receive support from the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, ensuring that the project continues to move forward.
The unit highlighted its accomplishments during the first phase, which involved the restoration and rehabilitation of 350 homes in the Tawahi district. These efforts aim to rebuild war-damaged structures and improve living conditions for affected families.
The meeting also addressed the current status of preparations for the second phase. The unit is actively working to finalize funding procedures, which will allow for expanded interventions targeting more damaged buildings in Aden.
Governor Abdulrahman Sheikh stressed the importance of completing the technical and administrative procedures for the second phase promptly. He emphasized that this will enable the project to commence as soon as funding is secured. Sheikh also acknowledged the vital support provided by the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, which plays a crucial role in the reconstruction efforts and infrastructure improvement in Aden.
The governor underscored the necessity of continued coordination with supporting and partnering entities. He highlighted the commitment to adhere to technical standards and maintain transparency throughout the project’s execution. This approach will enhance reconstruction efforts and contribute to restoring stability and improving the urban environment in Aden.
