Local sources in Amran province report that a woman fatally shot a Houthi militia leader while he attempted to invade her home. This incident occurred just hours after the militia had kidnapped her husband.
The Houthi leader, identified as Abu Talib Al-Salahi, serves as the police chief in the Al-Madan district. Early in the day, he abducted a local resident, Adel Al-Saeedi. Later, Al-Salahi returned with armed men to forcefully enter the family’s home.
In a dramatic turn of events, Al-Saeedi’s wife climbed to the roof of their house. She threw a large stone, striking Al-Salahi in the head and killing him instantly. This act of self-defense highlights the extreme measures residents are taking amid rising tensions.
Tribal leaders in Amran accuse the Houthi militia of continuously invading homes and violating sacred spaces, actions that clash with tribal customs. The situation has escalated tensions between local tribes and the militia in the region.
This incident is part of a broader pattern of tribal confrontations that have erupted in Amran, Al-Jawf, Saada, and Ibb provinces over recent weeks. These clashes have resulted in the deaths of several militia members, reflecting the increasing unrest in areas under Houthi control.
