In a tragic incident in Hangu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northwest Pakistan, eight militants lost their lives during an attack on a police checkpoint. The assault also claimed the lives of seven police officers, including Deputy Police Chief Diyar Khan Jam.
Authorities reported that police forces effectively countered the attack, leading to intense clashes. As a result, the attackers were neutralized. However, the violence left 22 police officers injured, including Deputy Chief Mujahid Hussain. Emergency medical services transported the injured officers to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The police confirmed that security operations continue to track down the remaining militants. They have intensified search and sweep operations in the area to ensure public safety. Additionally, authorities are committed to providing medical care for the injured while maintaining efforts to eliminate terrorist elements in the region.
