On Saturday, a civilian lost his life due to gunfire from Houthi militia snipers in the Al-Maqbana district of western Taiz province. This incident marks yet another violation against civilians amid ongoing hostilities in the region.
Local sources report that the victim, Abdul Latif Jamil, was riding a motorcycle with his son when snipers targeted them in the Al-Qashaa area. A bullet struck Jamil in the head, resulting in his immediate death.
This tragic event follows closely on the heels of another incident. Just one day prior, a woman named Fawzia Hassan Ahmed sustained injuries from Houthi sniper fire while tending to livestock in the Al-Kabbab village of the Al-Qahifa area, also in Al-Maqbana. Such attacks highlight the ongoing threat to civilian safety, as the militia continues to target populated areas with gunfire and shelling.
The situation in Taiz remains dire, with civilians bearing the brunt of the violence. As the conflict persists, the need for protection and accountability grows ever more urgent.
