Yemen Participates in High-Level Arab Regional Meeting

The Republic of Yemen participated today in a high-level Arab regional meeting aimed at preparing for the Second Global Conference on Social Development. The event took place in Tunis and featured a delegation led by Yemen’s Ambassador to Tunisia, Abdul Nasser Ba Habib, who also serves as the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps.

Key Discussion Topics

Over the course of two days, the meeting will address several critical topics, including:

  • The Arab Region: Towards the Second Global Conference on Social Development: This discussion will explore the current realities and aspirations for social development in the Arab world.

  • Multidimensional Poverty in the Arab Region: Participants will examine the various facets of poverty affecting the region and potential solutions.

  • Social and Economic Inclusion: The meeting will focus on integrating vulnerable groups into social protection systems, emphasizing the importance of full and productive employment.

  • Social Development Amid Armed Conflicts and Natural Disasters: The discussions will also cover the challenges of displacement and refugee situations caused by conflicts and disasters in the region.

Expected Outcomes

The meeting aims to produce a shared vision that outlines the Arab priorities for the Second Global Conference on Social Development. This significant conference is scheduled to take place in Qatar from November 4 to 6, 2025.
