Yemen’s Oil Minister Engages with British Ambassador to Enhance Energy Cooperation

Strengthening Bilateral Relations

Today, Dr. Mohammed Bamqaa, Yemen’s Minister of Oil and Minerals, held a meeting with Abda Sharif, the British Ambassador to Yemen. The discussions centered around enhancing cooperation between Yemen and the United Kingdom in the energy and mineral sectors. This meeting reflects both countries’ commitment to fostering development and growth in these vital industries.

Ministry’s Future Plans

During their discussions, Minister Bamqaa presented the ministry’s upcoming work program, highlighting a strong focus on training human resources and improving both administrative and technical performance. He underscored the necessity of integrating the latest technologies to enhance production rates and facilitate the development of oil and mineral fields within Yemen.

Investment Opportunities and Support

In a significant move to attract foreign investment, Minister Bamqaa formally invited leading British companies in the energy and minerals sectors to explore opportunities in Yemen. He assured attendees that the ministry is diligently working to create an appealing investment environment that promotes global partnerships aimed at stimulating economic growth and development in the country.

In response, Ambassador Sharif reaffirmed the British government’s ongoing support for Yemen’s administration. She expressed her country’s commitment to backing all structural and economic reforms initiated by the Yemeni state. Furthermore, she highlighted the importance of implementing decisions from the Presidential Leadership Council, which aim to strengthen state institutions and enhance the living conditions of citizens.
