The Republic of Yemen participated in the eighth and final session focused on discussing and approving the International Convention on Combating the Misuse of Information and Communication Technology for Criminal Purposes. The delegation was led by the Inspector General of the Ministry of Interior, Major General Dr. Faiz Ghaleb.
The session, which took place from July 29 to August 9, aimed to discuss several remaining items of the convention that were carried over from the previous seven sessions. These discussions were also attended by Yemen’s Ambassador to Austria, Haitham Shujaadin, with the goal of finalizing the convention and submitting it to the United Nations General Assembly for ratification.
Yemen’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Abdullah Al-Saadi, along with the advisor in the delegation, Ali Balobeid, and the First Secretary, Sarah Al-Mashhori, also participated in the session.
This participation underscores Yemen’s commitment to international efforts aimed at combating the misuse of information and communication technologies for criminal purposes.
