The Governor of Al Hudaydah, Dr. Hassan Taher, met today with representatives from humanitarian organizations to discuss urgent humanitarian interventions for displaced residents of the governorate. This meeting comes in response to the escalation of violence by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia.
During the meeting, which included several directors of general directorates and relevant executive offices, participants reviewed the humanitarian interventions implemented in recent months. They highlighted the main challenges facing field operations and explored solutions to address these obstacles. Additionally, they prioritized the needs of displaced individuals in areas such as shelter, food, health, and education.
Governor Taher emphasized the need for intensified intervention efforts and a rapid response. He urged for better coordination and integration among humanitarian partners to reach all displaced families and alleviate their suffering. He also praised the efforts of local authorities in the governorates of Aden, Lahij, and Abyan for their support and hospitality towards the displaced population.
