Today, the Republic of Yemen participated in an extraordinary meeting of the Arab League Council at the level of permanent representatives. The Yemeni delegation was led by Ambassador Dr. Ali Mousa, the Chargé d’Affaires to the League. The meeting served as a platform for critical discussions on various pressing regional issues.
Under the leadership of Bahrain’s Ambassador Fawzia Zainal, the meeting primarily focused on the recent attacks targeting Sudan. Representatives from a multitude of Arab nations, along with officials from the League’s General Secretariat, concentrated on assessing the impact of these assaults on Sudan’s infrastructure and civilian facilities.
During the session, Arab representatives reviewed a draft resolution submitted by Sudan. They collectively reaffirmed their commitment to Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. The meeting included a strong condemnation of the attacks that led to substantial loss of life and property, with attendees emphasizing the importance of adhering to previous resolutions made by the Arab League Council.
Ambassador Ali Mousa reiterated Yemen’s steadfast support for Sudan amidst these challenges. He highlighted that Yemen’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs had condemned the attacks on Sudan, reinforcing Yemen’s commitment to all Arab efforts aimed at enhancing Sudan’s security and stability, while also preserving its national institutions. This meeting underscores the collective Arab commitment to regional stability and solidarity, particularly during times of crisis.
