On Saturday morning, the Houthi militia kidnapped university student Ashraf Taher Al-Dharasi as he headed to the Information Technology College at Ibb University. Local sources, including journalist Mohammed Al-Ghabari, reported that the militia took him to an unknown location.
This incident highlights a troubling trend of violations against students and academics in Houthi-controlled areas. The militia employs intimidation tactics and arbitrary arrests to stifle educational freedoms and impose strict security oversight on the youth.
The situation continues to escalate, raising concerns about the safety and rights of students in the region.
