Yemen’s Foreign Minister Arrives in New York for High-Level Conference on Palestinian Peace

New York, July 28, 2025 – Dr. Shai Al-Zindani, Yemen’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, arrived in New York today to participate in a high-level international conference focused on the peaceful resolution of the Palestinian issue and the implementation of the “Two-State Solution.” The conference will take place at the United Nations headquarters from July 28 to July 30, 2025.

Yemen’s Commitment to Palestinian Rights

Yemen’s participation in this significant conference underscores its unwavering support for the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people. This includes their right to establish an independent and sovereign state based on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital. Yemen bases its stance on international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative.

Bilateral Meetings on Yemen’s Current Situation

During the conference, Minister Al-Zindani plans to hold a series of bilateral meetings with senior UN officials and representatives from regional and international organizations. These discussions will focus on the latest developments in Yemen, particularly the ongoing international and regional efforts to advance the peace process, end the war, and restore state institutions. The meetings will also address the escalating humanitarian challenges resulting from the Houthi militia’s actions, which are supported by the Iranian regime.

Priorities for Yemen’s Government

In these meetings, the Foreign Minister will outline the Yemeni government’s current priorities. Key issues include supporting economic recovery, alleviating citizen suffering, and enhancing security and stability across various provinces.

Strengthening Yemen’s Diplomatic Presence

Yemen’s participation in this international conference reflects its strong commitment to Arab and Islamic issues, particularly the Palestinian cause. It also demonstrates Yemen’s dedication to enhancing its diplomatic presence on the global stage, defending its national interests, and collaborating with international partners to achieve a just and lasting peace in Yemen and the broader region.
