Training Program for Rapid Response Teams Concludes in Aden

The Ministry of Public Health and Population in Aden has successfully concluded a training program for rapid response teams. This initiative, organized by the General Department for Disease Control and Epidemiological Surveillance, involved 60 healthcare professionals. The program lasted four days and included theoretical lectures and practical training focused on the teams’ roles in addressing health crises.

Enhancing Skills for Health Crises

Participants engaged in various activities, including learning about biological sample collection, outbreak analysis, rapid reporting techniques, and data analysis. These skills are crucial for effective response during health emergencies.

Commitment to Strengthening Health Systems

Dr. Hanan Al-Turimi, Director of the Early Warning Electronic Program, emphasized that this training marks a significant step in enhancing the efficiency and readiness of rapid response teams. She noted that the ministry, with support from its partners, is committed to implementing strategic plans to strengthen the early warning system.

Support from Global Health Organizations

Dr. Luca and Dr. Lina Al-Khanbari, representatives from the World Health Organization in Aden, highlighted the importance of these teams as the first line of defense against outbreaks. They reaffirmed the organization’s ongoing support for Yemen’s health system.

Future Plans for Broader Training

Dr. Safwa Babker, head of the Central Rapid Response Teams, announced that the program will expand to include over 600 healthcare workers in liberated provinces. This expansion aims to enhance coordination between field teams and central levels, ensuring a comprehensive and effective health response.
