The Yemeni Sports Media Association recently participated in the 88th Congress of the International Sports Press Association, held from April 9 to 15, 2026, in Lausanne, Switzerland. This significant event attracted representatives from various sports media associations worldwide, highlighting its role in fostering professional collaboration among sports media specialists.
The congress featured a series of workshops and specialized meetings, providing participants with insights into advanced institutional experiences. These activities enhanced professional networking with prominent leaders and figures in global sports media. Such interactions reflect ongoing efforts to improve and develop sports media on an international scale.
During the congress, Italian Gianni Merlo was re-elected as president for another four-year term. Additionally, Mauritania will host the next congress in 2027. Samih Al-Ma’limi, the association’s representative, emphasized that the Yemeni Sports Media Association’s participation signifies its active presence in international forums. He noted the association’s commitment to engaging in professional platforms that contribute to the advancement of sports media and strengthen collaboration with peers from various countries.
