Yemeni Ambassador Takes Oath of Office in Saudi Arabia

On Thursday, at the Yemeni Embassy in Riyadh, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi administered the oath of office to Salem Saleh bin Brik. This ceremony marked his official appointment as the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Yemen to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Meeting with President Alimi

Following the oath, President Alimi met with Ambassador bin Brik. He emphasized the importance of bin Brik’s role as the head of one of Yemen’s most significant diplomatic missions abroad. The President noted that any success achieved by this mission would greatly enhance the bilateral relations and strategic partnership between Yemen and Saudi Arabia.

Strengthening Yemen-Saudi Relations

President Alimi reiterated that the partnership with Saudi Arabia is not merely situational but a strategic choice rooted in shared history, geography, and destiny. He acknowledged Saudi Arabia’s unwavering commitment to supporting Yemen politically, economically, and humanitarianly. The Kingdom has shouldered significant burdens to defend regional security and stability.

The President urged that it is time for Yemen to move beyond its cycle of crises. He called for a proactive partnership within the Gulf security and development framework. He stressed the need to build relationships based on integration, good neighborliness, and mutual interests. Alimi asserted that Yemen’s natural future lies in being part of the economic renaissance led by Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Cooperation Council, following the restoration of the state and the end of the coup.

Supporting the Yemeni Community in Saudi Arabia

President Alimi encouraged Ambassador bin Brik to dedicate efforts to serve the Yemeni community in Saudi Arabia. He highlighted their importance as vital contributors to the national economy and as bridges connecting the two peoples. The President reminded bin Brik that these individuals are not just expatriates; they are ambassadors of Yemen in their daily lives and represent their country honorably in the host nation.
